What is a pharmacy API and how does it work?

API stands for Application Programming Interface, in plain terms, it's how two pieces of software talk to each other. When a prescriber issues a script inside a clinical system that's integrated with CloudRx, that prescription data travels over the API directly to CloudRx's pharmacy system. No human has to re-key the information. No prescription pad changes hands.

The CloudRx API is a RESTful JSON-based interface that supports the full prescription lifecycle:
